Mitchell Area Genealogical Society held election of officers on September 25th. New officers are as follows:

We are growing everyday by leaps and bounds. We gather material for researching Mitchell and the surrounding area to make our Center a complete research destination. We have more and more people stopping in looking for information on their families and the Mitchell area all the time. It is such a pleasure to be able to help them find the information they want and usually they will share with us if they have something we don't. With our copier are able to make copies of our records for them to keep. Our volunteers are getting better at the research the more they do it. We are also available by appointment if you are unable to stop in when we are open. Our hours through the end of September are Monday through Saturday, 12pm - 5pm.

Join us Tuesday, August 22 - Sunday, August 25, from 10am until the carnival closes for Woolworth's Caramel Apples. We will be in Einstein's Costume Rental at 317 North Main Street. Apples can be ordered sliced into a bowl with caramel poured on top or on a stick dipped in caramel for $2.50 each. If you are not coming uptown, caramel apples are also available at Fanny Horners Resturant at 1691 North Main Sreet. Call 999-0161 and order 10 apples (minimun) and we will deliver locally. We also have bottled water for $1.00. Come out and show your support. The proceeds go to the Mitchell Area Hospice, Mitchell Main Street and Beyond (formerly Uptown Business Association), and the Carnegie Resource Center.
